Role Overview:
The Advocacy Officer is an essential elected position within the International Association of Physics Students. The Advocacy Officer works under the supervision of the Membership Manager, ensuring that advocacy efforts align with the needs and priorities of IAPS members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Advocacy Issues:
- Identify and investigate topics of importance to IAPS members.
- Stay informed about current and emerging issues affecting physics students globally.
- Subgroup Initiation and Management:
- Initiate and manage subgroups focused on specific advocacy issues.
- Facilitate collaboration within these subgroups to effectively address and advocate on key topics.
- Advocating for Students’ Rights:
- Represent and advocate for students’ rights at both local and international levels.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and organizations to promote the interests of physics students.
- Promoting Gender Equality:
- Organize and support events aimed at promoting gender equality within the physics community.
- Collaborate with other organizations and groups to advance gender equality initiatives.
