We are thrilled to announce the revival of a tradition within the International Association of Physics Students – the Worldwide Grant. This initiative is designed to empower physics students from all corners of the globe to participate in the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) by offering financial support for their travel expenses.
Grant Details:
Supporting Amount: 3000€
Supported Students: Minimum of 10
Supported Amount per Student: 50% of their travel expenses, up to 300€
To ensure fairness and inclusivity, applicants will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Active Engagement in IAPS: Applicants should demonstrate a history of involvement with IAPS or its affiliated bodies.
- Motivation to Attend ICPS: A concise statement of motivation outlining why attending ICPS is important for their academic and personal development.
- Academic Level: Preference may be given to Bachelor’s and Master’s students, considering their potentially limited financial resources compared to PhD students.
- Diversity: To encourage global participation, there should be no majority representation from any single country.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be current IAPS members.
- Consent with IAPS Privacy Policy and all other regulations.
- Exclusion of IAPS Executive Committee members.
- Preference for applicants presenting a poster or a presentation.
- Ineligibility for applicants who have already received support from other grants.
Recipients of the ICPS 2024 Worldwide Grant are expected to:
- Engage in public relations activities during and after the event, such as providing testimonials for the IAPS webpage or sharing experiences on social media.
- Participate actively in the full conference program.
Awarding Process:
- After the event, recipients will be required to submit a post-statement to the Executive Committee.
- Reimbursement will be processed upon submission of travel receipts and completion of the reimbursement form, within a two week period.
