The annual excursion came to an end once again.
All participants had a great couple of days in Geneva with fantastic weather. In the last week of April almost 50 students met to visit CERN, the European Center of Nuclear Research. The trip organised by the IAPS EC always reaches a high number of interested physics students from all over the world. This year highly motivated people from 15 different countries spent two days at the CERN facilities. Apart from listening to a lecture and building their own cloud chamber, they also walked underground at the CMS detector sight. You can find photos of the event here.
If you are interested in the excursion for next year, note it down now. The registration will be open again in December.
The trip is targeted at undergraduate students although everyone with an interest in physics, the LHC, CERN and Geneva is welcome to attend.
The participation fee is normally around 100 EUR.
