… iaps2cern 2014 is on!

Well, it’s that time of the year again! We’re launching the registration for the annual international study visit to CERN, the European Center of Nuclear Research.

Good news: the dates of the event are confirmed! We will squeeze in to feel all the Nobel Prize winning research from Tuesday 22 April 2014 to Friday 25 April 2014.

Bad news: only 28 places available this year! Some selection will be necessary…

Winter Kindergarten of Theoretical Physics 2013

The Society of Physics Students “Migacz” and the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, University of Wroclaw are pleased to announce the Winter Kindergarten of Theoretical Physics 2013 in Ladek Zdroj, Poland held from Sunday 10th to Saturday 16th February, 2013.  It will be organized in cooperation with the well known Winter School of Theoretical Physics.

The Kindergarten is a week-long conference designed for undergraduate and master students (PhD students are encouraged to take part in the 49th School of Theoretical Physics).

iaps2cern 2013

It’s that time of the year again!  The International Association of Physics Students is organising the annual international trip to CERN, the European Center of Nuclear Research, which includes the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), ATLAS (A Toroidal LHC ApparatuS), CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid), ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) and LHCb as well as other particle physics experiments.

The dates of the event are Tuesday 02 April 2013 to Friday 05 April 2013

Registration deadline: 15th February 2013
Payment deadline: 15th March 2013
Fee (IAPS members): €100
Fee (non-IAPS members): €110

Rudolf Ortvay International Problem Solving Competition in Physics

The competition is electronic, so you are welcome to join from any country in the world as long as you are a university or PhD student in any field.

iaps2desy trip 2012

The International Association of Physics Students is organising a new international trip to DESY, the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron accelerators, photon science particle and astroparticle physics. This will include visits to the Light source DORIS III, Z-ray source PETRA III, Free-electron laser FLASH, X-ray laser European XFEL and HASY Lab.  There will also be talks given by scientists and pHd students currently working on projects at DESY.

The dates of the event are Sunday 10th to Wednesday 13th June 2012.

Registration deadline: 5th of May 2012.

Payment deadline: 9th of May 2012.
